Legends of Tomorrow: Matt Ryan Returning as Season 4 Regular

Should The CW renew Legends of Tomorrow for a fourth season, Matt Ryan will return as a series regular, reports The Hollywood Reporter. This comes on the heels of the show’s mid-season returning with a guest appearance from Ryan’s beloved portrayal of John Constantine.

Legends, along with Supergirl, has yet to receive news regarding whether additional runs are on the horizon. However, network execs have said both are expected to come back for their fourth seasons.

The demonologist/warlock/petty dabbler in the dark arts first made his Arrowverse debut during Arrow’s fourth season, when Oliver calls Constantine to aid in restoring Sara Lance’s soul. His recent ventures in the expansive DC TV universe were also closely related to Sara. Constantine boards the Waverider next on the forthcoming episode “Necromancing the Stone,” which airs Monday, March 19. Legends‘ third season finale marks his final appearance this season.

Matt Ryan’s commitment to the role has been a boon for fans of the cancelled NBC series. In addition to his Arrowverse escapades, Ryan voices Constantine in the Justice League Dark animated film. The actor will lend his voice talents to the role, again, when Constantine’s animated series beings streaming on CW Seed on March 24.

Legends of Tomorrow’s airs Monday nights on The CW.
