Female Led Action Thriller ‘Close’ Starring Noomi Rapace Lands At Netflix

Netflix has become a leading platform for diverse and inclusive storytelling. That streak continues as they have acquired the rights to the female led action thriller Close from WestEnd Films, Variety is reporting. The announcement was made as we celebrated World Women’s Day.

The film stars Swedish actress Noomi Rapace who is no stranger to Netflix films as she has starred in two action-packed, science fiction films What Happened To Monday and Bright, opposite Will Smith.

Close was inspired by the life of professional bodyguard Jacquie Davis who established a formidable career in the male dominated world of professional bodyguards. Davis served as a consultant on the film and also helped to develop the action sequences. The film also stars actress Indira Varma (Game Of Thrones), Sophie Nelisse (The Book Thief), and Eoin Macken (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter).

No release date has been announced yet but the Netflix deal confirms that the film will stream in the US, the UK and Australia. Are you a fan of Noomi Rapace? Excited for this film? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
