‘Deadpool’ Creator Rob Liefeld to Bring His Extreme Universe to Netflix

One of the men behind Deadpool has just signed a deal to bring even more of his characters to life.

Rob Liefeld has reportedly just entered into a seven-figure a deal with streaming supergiant Netflix to create a series of films that all connect to each other based on Liefeld’s on comic creations. Akiva Goldsman will oversee the high-end writer’s room and both men are currently set to produce along with Brooklyn Weaver.

Netflix clinched this deal after one between Graham King and Fundamental Films fell through leaving them the golden opportunity to add another franchise to their reservoir and this deal gives the company a chance at a branded series of films.  Extreme Universe covers a total of six comic books that tell the tales of over 50 characters such as Cybrid, Bloodstrike, Kaboom and many more. Liefeld had this to say about the deal:

“Netflix has become a part of every day existence for me and my children. Their programming is the most dynamic and diverse I have seen. I am beyond thrilled and inspired to be bringing my Extreme catalogue to life with the creative wizards at Netflix. What Akiva Goldsman has achieved with his craft and storytelling across all mediums in our industry is of absolute benefit for my Extreme characters. He is an absolute comic book fanatic and working with him on adapting Extreme Universe has been electric. His stellar work on Star Trek Discovery has wowed the fandom and trust me when I say that the Teen Titans show he is producing is going to blow fans away. I cannot wait to show the world what we have in store.”
