‘Call Me By Your Name’ Director Luca Guadagnino Confirms Sequel Plans
Luca Guadagnino, the director of the coming-of-age romance Call Me By Your Name, spoke to USA Today on the red carpet about a sequel that may be right around the corner.
“I’m already conceiving the story with André Aciman [the author of the original source novel], and it’s gonna happen five or six years afterwards, so almost in the ‘90s, in 1990. It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone.”
He also confirmed that the setting will differ from the beautiful Italian environment from the first film:
“You’ll see a lot of the east coast of America, they’re gonna go around the world.”
And of course, the magnificent pair Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer are set to reprise their roles as the two lovers.
The film is still far from starting production, as Guadagnino stated the script must be finalized before any further steps are to be taken. After their Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay, we have no choice but to trust him.
