‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Makes $1.3 Million at Thursday Previews
Disney’s latest highly anticipated movie release A Wrinkle in Time had a decent start to its big screen run, making $1.3 million at its Thursday previews.
The film, based on the classic children’s novel by Madeleine L’Engle, follows Storm Reid’s Meg as she and her friends travel through space and time to find her missing father.

Directed by Ava DuVernay, the movie has received a lot of buzz leading up to its release, as it’s a rare big budget sci-fi/fantasy film helmed by a woman of color, starring a diverse cast of female stars and unapologetically geared toward women and girls.
It will have tough competition this weekend as Marvel’s Black Panther continues to dominate the box office. To date it has made $516 million domestically and $936 million worldwide. It will almost certainly pass the $1 billion mark this weekend.
Starring Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Zach Galifinakis, Michael Pena, Bellamy Young, David Oyelowo and Chris Pine, A Wrinkle in Time is now playing in theaters.
