Chance the Rapper & Childish Gambino Reportedly Working On “Amazing” Tracks Together

It would seem that Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper have been working together and it looks like we’re going to get the new music that we deserve. The two musicians have collaborated before (Gambino’s “The Worst Guys” and Chance’s “Favorite Song” being prime examples) and the duo have been hinting at hitting the studio again for years. Last fall, Donald Glover, the man behind Gambino, even joked that “I feel like if I don’t make a Chance the Rapper mixtape, like a double mixtape, a bunch of 14-year-olds will kick my ass.”

In a recent interview with Adrienne Samuels Gibbs for “In Sight Out”, Chance kept coy on exactly what the two had going on but he did say, “We did link up in Atlanta and record some tracks and… they’re amazing.” Chance also touched on Kanye West and doing the music for a possible Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reboot in the interview which will be released as a podcast in the coming weeks.

This past June, Glover announced that he would be retiring his “Childish Gambino” persona after his next album and reiterated it at the Grammys earlier this year: “I stand by that, “I’m really appreciative of this. I’m making another project right now, but I like endings, I think they’re important to progress.”

The entertainer took to his Twitter on Monday to announce the pre-sale for his upcoming concerts with Rae Sremmurd would start the next day and that the general sale for tickets would start on his website on Friday, March 9th, which can be seen here. With concert dates set, one can assume that it’s only a matter of time before he announces the album as well, but we’ve got “Redbone” on repeat to keep us busy until then.
