For a third weekend in a row, Black Panther was king of the box office. The newest addition to the MCU just became Marvel’s second-highest grossing film of all time and still has not been released in one of the biggest markets, China.
This weekend, the Ryan Coogler directed film raked in $65.7 million in North America, bringing the domestic total to $501.1 million. Worldwide, the film has made an estimated $897.7 million. Currently, it’s well on its way to breaking the $1 billion mark.
Last week, the film became Marvel’s second-highest grossing film of all time, surpassing Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. The only film ahead of Black Panther currently is The Avengers, which was released back in 2012.
