Netflix Orders Superhero Film Directed By Rick Famuyiwa, Produced by Joe & Anthony Russo With Keanu Reeves In Talks To Star
Netflix has ordered a new superhero to grace our screens, and with the talent behind the project it looks like is going to be a great time for us, as Deadline reported that Dope director Rick Famuyiwa is set to direct Past Midnight, a feature film about a new kind of vigilante superhero.
But he’s not the only one involved with the project as the Russo Brothers, Anthony and Joe -mostly known for their work in Captain America The Winter Soldier, Civil War and the upcoming Infinity War-, are producing and Keanu Reeves is in talks to star the film.
According to Deadline, the Russo Brothers and Famuyiwa’s deals are both done, with only Reeves missing to say yes. This wouldn’t be his first time in a superhero movie as he has starred in films like the John Wick franchise and Constantine.

T.J. Fixman
Details of the plot are being kept under wrap, with the only information that T.J. Fixman will write the script. Fixman comes from a video game background -having written the game Ratchet & Clank– but has since sold film projects like One Night on the Hudson to Universal, The Lost to New Line/21 Laps, and Gargoyles for Disney. He was also involved in Sony Animation’s take on Popeye and has been consulted by Hasbro on various of its films, TV and digital projects.
Meanwhile, Famuyiwa has just signed to write and direct New Regency and Plan B’s fantasy thriller Black Hole, based on Charles Burn’s graphic novel. And the Russo Brothers are busy with Infinity War promotion and Avengers 4 post-production.
