While we do still have to wait a year to see Brie Larson suit up as Carol Danvers on the big screen, Marvel is gifting us with something in order to tide us other until then in the form of a brand new Captain Marvel origin story.

The current title of the new introduction to Captain Marvel’s creation is The Life of Captain Marvel which is set to be released before the film’s expected theatrical debut next March. It’s part of Marvel’s “Fresh Start” relaunch where they are putting some of the publisher’s heroes into new spotlight comics. The new series from writer Margaret Stohl and Carlos Pacheco is expected to plunge deeper into what is supposedly Captain Marvel’s  “true origin” – where Carol Danvers will revisit her past and could possibly end up ultimately altering her universe forever. Stohl confirms that the new series will have things in common with the film but that the comic will definitely be “its own thing”.
