The Telling, Ursula K. Le Guin’s praised Sci-Fi novel, will be receiving a film adaptation which is planning for release in 2019.

Bayview Films, a subsidiary of Bayview Labs, announced they will be taking the project with Rekha Sharma from Battlestar Galacticaand Star Trek: Discovery as Sutty. The film will be written and directed by Leena Pendharkar.

Pendharkar has stated “I’m honored to bring the work of one of science fiction’s most esteemed writers to the screen especially in these times when strong female voices are needed,”

The Telling is being produced by Bayview Film’s Rizwan Virk, who states that he has  “been a fan of Ursula K. Le Guin’s science fiction and fantasy for many years” and that “[Bayview Films has] been working on the script for The Telling with her over the past few years, and we were extremely saddened to hear of her recent passing.”

According to reports, production for the film will begin before the end of the year.
