Report: Kristen Wiig In Talks for Villain Role in ‘Wonder Woman 2’

With the follow-up of the DCEU’s hit, Wonder Woman set to begin filming this summer with a 2019 release, rumors have begun to swirl about what to expect for the sequel.

According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros and DC are in talks with actress Kristen Wiig for the role of the villainous, Cheetah.

For those who are unfamiliar with Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva a.k.a. Cheetah (the current version of the character), made her first appearance in DC Comics back in Wonder Woman Vol. 2 #7 in August 1987 and has been one of Diana’s most prominent and fearsome foes.

Past rumors had Circe as the lead villain with the film’s working title said to be: ‘Magic Hour’. But what we do know about the upcoming film thus far, is that it will be set in the 1980s during the Cold War and director Patty Jenkins is returning to direct.
