Michael B. Jordan being exposed as an anime-fan wasn’t the only big thing in the world of anime this week. Tonight Crunchyroll rolled out the orange carpet for the second annual Anime Awards. Hosted by Anthony Carboni and Erika Ishii, the event celebrated several shows from 2017’s outstanding year of anime. The award show consisted of 17 categories curated by Crunchyroll’s hand-selected panel of anime experts, such as IGN’s Miranda Sanchez. But at the end of the day, the winners were voted on and decided by us, the anime community.

In addition to the winners listed down below, the award show highlighted anime legend Christopher Sabat as an Industry Icon. Sabat is best known for his work on iconic characters like Vegeta, Piccolo, Alex Louis Armstrong, Raizen and more recently All Might. An impressive cast of characters, making Christopher Sabat well-deserving of becoming the first-ever recipient of the award.

One response to “Crunchyroll’s 2017 Anime Awards Recap and Winners”

  1. Kind of glad Girls’ Last Tour got the best slice of life. I don’t often enjoy slice of life but I found that one to be thoroughly engrossing.
