Everyone knows Disney loves a TV Movie trilogy (High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls, and Zenon, just to name a few) and their newest hit Descendants will be joining the ranks of those with their own trifecta as the Disney Channel has officially greenlit Descendants 3.

The first Descendants movie was released in 2015 with the sequel coming out this past year in 2017. The films are based off of Melissa de la Cruz’s popular book series where the focus is on the next generation of Disney characters only with a twist: instead of the heroes, they are the outcasts, the children of the most popular villains of all time including Cruella De Vil, the Evil Queen, Jafar, Maleficent, and Ursula. The third film currently has an expected release date of 2019.

On top of the film franchise, Descendants also has a clothing line, a line of dolls and an animated series as well. The first teaser for Descendants 3 can be seen below.
