THQ Nordic, creators of de Blob and Destroy All Humans!, has recently acquired Koch Media, owners of the Saints Row, Metro, and Dead Island franchises for in a deal worth more than 150 million dollars.

This means that THQ Nordic has the ability to reunite franchises with their game developers – for an example, THQ now owns the rights to both Red Faction, and Red Faction: Guerrilla developer Volition.

THQ Nordic CEO, Lars Wingefors, has stated “Koch Media has a long history of profitability despite losses incurred from some less successful game releases”

The CEO of Koch Media, Klemens Kundratitz, continues to Wingefors sentement, “I strongly believe that THQ Nordic is a great strategic fit with Koch Media. In addition to having long experience within games development and publishing, THQ Nordic has the skills, willingness and capital to deliver growth in the future.”

There has been no word about merging the two companies, however, Kundratitz will retain his position as CEO and will become a THQ Nordic shareholder.
