Sabrina is expanding its cast, as Chance Perdomo and Michelle Gomez (Doctor Who) have snagged roles in Netflix’s latest twist.
Gomez will portray Mary Wardell, Sabrina’s (played by Kiernan Shipka) favorite teacher and mentor at her school Baxter High. Wardell turns into cunning manipulator who is possessed by Madam Satan, trying to lure Sabrina in a dark path.
Perdomo will portray Ambrose Spellman, Sabrina’s warlock cousin from England. Ambrose is forbidden from leaving the funeral home where he lives when placed under house arrest by the Witches Council. Identifying as pan-sexual, he is Sabrina’s partner in crime. This will be Perdomo’s first American screen credit.
Other casting news has recently been announced, as Lucy Davis (Wonder Woman) has been cast as Aunt Hilda.
The series will have 20 episodes with a two-season order on Netflix. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, chief creative officer of Archie Comics and Riverdale‘s showrunner, will serve as writer and executive producer.
The series is slated to air sometime this year.
