[Rumor Alert] ‘Deadpool’s Tim Miller Developing Kitty Pryde Solo Film With Brian Michael Bendis

Comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis and Deadpool director Tim Miller have teamed up for an X-Men spinoff. The project is titled “143” and it will be set in the current X-Men universe. The script will be written by Bendis—who has multiple X-Men comics under his belt—and Miller is set to direct.

The working title “143” is just a temporary code name for the project, which some sources say will be focused on the character Kitty Pryde, who is commonly associated with the X-Men as she is a mutant who can phase through objects. Ellen Page played the character in X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

The code name is a reference to Uncanny X-Men #143, which is one of Pryde’s earliest stories, as well as her first solo run. This issue was published in 1981, and it was written by her creators Chris Claremont and John Byrne. And while Bendis has moved on to DC and is taking over Superman later this year, he worked for Marvel for 20 years—creating iconic characters such as Miles Morales and Jessica Jones—so his legacy is not to be ignored.

How do you feel about a Kitty Pryde solo movie? Are there any other mutants you’d rather see on the big screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
