Remaster of Spyro Trilogy Glides to PS4 Later This Year
Multiple sources said to be close to the project have reported that Activision is currently working on Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster, believed to be released in Q3 of 2018.
Following the precedent set by last year’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is believed to receive a full overhaul including updated lighting, animations, cinematics and a remastered soundtrack. An official announcement is expected to be made sometime in March of 2018.
Set to be released as a PlayStation exclusive for the PS4, the remaster will include Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage!, and Year of the Dragon. The release is rumored to come sometime in September, just in time for Spyro the Dragon’s 20th anniversary on September 9th.
The remaster will be handled by Vicarious Visions, the same studio who worked on Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. Both remasters are said to be under a 1-year exclusivity contract so we can expect to see ports of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy popping up on other later this year. Look forward to more details on Spyro to be revealed next month!
