Melissa McCarthy Joins DC’s ‘The Kitchen’
Oscar and Emmy nominee Melissa McCarthy is heading into the comic book movie world.
The actress is joining Tiffany Haddish in New Line Cinema and DC Entertainment’s The Kitchen.
The Kitchen is an Irish mafia story set in Hell’s Kitchen, New York in the 1970s. A FBI sweep catches mob leaders, and while they are under arrest and their criminal enterprise is jeopardized, the mob wives take over. They end up running the illicit business in more vicious fashion than their husbands ever did.

McCarthy is known for her roles in comedies like Bridesmaids, Spy and Ghostbusters, as well as the sitcom Mike & Molly. The Kitchen will be her first major dramatic film.
She can be seen in the upcoming movies Life of the Party, The Happytime Murders and Can You Ever Forgive Me.
Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) wrote the script and will make her directorial debut on The Kitchen.
