Report: Bandai Namco Singapore is Developing Metroid Prime 4
Bandai Namco may be handling the development of Metroid Prime 4 with Nintendo. A report from Eurogamer states:
Specifically, the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch exclusive is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios Singapore, which we understand is lead studio on the game in collaboration with Nintendo. This studio houses some former LucasArts Singapore staff who previously worked on, among other things, the ambitious cancelledStar Wars 1313.
While the article is based on unconfirmed and anonymous sources, there are a lot of circumstantial evidence that support the rumors. Bandai Namco does have a close relationship with Nintendo as they have worked together before to create other games such as Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros.
While there hasn’t been much information released since then, Nintendo did release a promotional video last year at E3 that gave a first look at Metroid Prime 4. You can watch that down below:
Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, and Metroid Prime 3 were developed by Retro Studios which is a subdivision of Nintendo. Hopefully more news comes out soon.
