Live-Action ‘Kim Possible’ Movie Coming to Disney Channel

Disney Channel is bringing back one of its most popular animated series for a live-action film. The network is making a Kim Possible movie.

The cartoon, which ran from 2002-2007, featured Kim, a regular high school girl who fights crime with her best friend Ron Stoppable and his pet mole rat Rufus.

The show featured the voices of Christy Carlson Romano, WIll Friedle, Tahj Mowry, John DiMaggio and Nicole Sullivan.

Kim Possible creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley are writing the script with Josh Cagan (The Duff). Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (MECH X-4) are directing.

“Mark and Bob created an enduring character and kids all over the world found a friend in her, an average girl who just happens to spend her off-school hours thwarting evil villains,” said Adam Bonnett, executive vp original programming, at Disney Channels Worldwide.

“Although Kim Possible ‘can do anything,’ kids and tweens found that this animated redhead was just like them,” he continued. “As we embark on the fun challenge of making Kim and Ron fully dimensional, I’m thrilled to be working again with Mark and Bob and to welcome the addition of a dynamic creative team — Josh, Zanne, Adam and Zach — into a world where anything is indeed possible.”
