The manga artist behind One-Punch Man, Yuusuke Murata, has announced his work on a new manga based on Back to the Future.

Back in 2016, Murata teased the project for the first time, revealing a sketch a final drawing that has just recently been revealed. At a celebration event in Tokyo for the upcoming film Ready Player One, Murata officially announced the project. The film’s screenwriter Bob Gale will be supervising the manga’s story, which is said to contain content not seen in the original films.

A date for the manga’s first chapter release has yet to be announced, however, it has been confirmed that it will be published on the website Kono Manga ga Sugoi. The first volume, collecting the initial handful of chapters, is expected to be released on April 20.

Murata plans to capture the images as we have come to know them in the movies as closely as possible. He mentioned that drawing Michael J. Fox in his portrayal of Marty McFly is an “extremely high hurdle,” but ensures us that he’s is trying his best.

  1. That will be interesting

  2. Wonder how Murata will find the time for both of his series. He is already pushing human limits with the amount of content each One Punch Man chapter has.

    1. It seems like he’s fairly lax with the release schedule so hopefully it won’t put too much stress on him. But unfortunatley pushing limits seems to just be the mangaka lifestyle

  3. nice heads up
