F. Gary Gray Is In Talks to Direct New ‘Men In Black’ Spinoff
Famed director F. Gary Gray is high off the success of the eighth installment of the Fast franchise Fate of the Furious. That film grossed over $1 Billion at the worldwide box office.
Now, Variety is reporting that Gray has been tapped to direct a Men in Black spinoff film. The original film starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as Agent J and Agent K who worked for a secret organization that protects Earth from intergalactic baddies. The original film was a success and garnered two sequels and an animated series that lasted four seasons.
Gray is no stranger to high octane action films as he has sat in the director’s chair for films like Set It Off, The Italian Job and the Oscar nominated film Straight Outta Compton.
The spinoff film is being penned by screenwriting duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight). No plot details have been released about the upcoming film but it is said to follow two new characters, one of which will be a woman.
