“Despicable Me” Writers Team Up With Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment for “Birthright”
Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, writers for the extremely popular Despicable me series, are joining together with Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment for their adapation of the Fantasy comic book series “Birthright”.
Kirkman, famed for creating The Walking Dead, was approached by Universal to begin this project with producer Jeb Brody.
The comic centers around the Rhode’s family after their young son tragically goes missing after playing outside. However, a year later a grown man returns to the home, explaining that he is their lost son who has traveled to another world leading his family to take a journey to see what really happened to their son.

Paul and Daurio are best known for their kid-friendly animation films such as The Secret Life of Pets and Horton Hears a Who! However, this film will be different in tone in comparison to their prior films, an interesting challenge for extremely experienced duo.
