2018 ESSENCEFEST PERFORMERS ANNOUNCED!
Essence has announced its highly anticipated list of performers for 2018 EssenceFest, scheduled for July 5-8 in New Orleans. Headliners include Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. The remaining list represents a mixture of talented artists, across multiple eras of music, from the 90’s to the present.
EssenceFest, held annually since 1995, is the largest event celebrating African-American culture and music in the United States. It typically includes four days of culture, workshops, empowerment and entertainment. During the evenings, concerts are performed that take place across five different stages in the Louisiana Superdome; headlining acts and major artists are featured on the main stage, while the smaller and/or lesser-known artists are showcased in the various lounges within the facility. This year, D-Nice will make his first appearance as the Mainstage DJ, joining returning Mainstage Host, Roy Woods Jr.
