Fear no more! What We Do In The Shadows is returning… to our tv screens in the form of a reboot for television, created and directed by the same men who brought us the movie: Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.

The duo, who wrote, directed and starred in the mockumentary back in 2014, have landed a pilot-production order at FX, which will be based on the film of the same name and will be presented as a half-hour comedy show.

The pilot is set to be written by Clement and directed by Waititi, whose most recent work is Thor Ragnarok – a film that will be available for digital download and Blu-Ray next month-, and both men are set to act as executive producers as well.

As this series will act as a reboot of the film, it will feature a new ensemble cast, which consists of Kayvan Novak (Danger Mouse, Thunderbirds Are Go), Matt Berry (Toast of London), Natasia Demetriou (Year Friends) and Harvey Guillen (The Thundermans, The Internship). However, it remains unknown whether if Clement and Waititi will also have an onscreen role.

If you’ve never heard about this New Zeland vampire mockumentary, here’s a brief synopsis of the film:

“Vampire housemates (Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, Jonathan Brugh) try to cope with the complexities of modern life and show a newly turned hipster (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer) some of the perks of being undead.”

If you want to see it, the movie is available on Netflix.

What do you think about this news? Will you see this FX series?
