Patty Jenkins, Jordan Peele and Taika Waititi Score Best Director Nods For The 2018 Empire Awards

The shortlist for the 2018 Empire Awards nominations are in and there are a slew of our favourite films and shows of the past year nominated for various awards.

Thor: Ragnarok and Star Wars: The Last Jedi lead the pack with nine nominations each, followed by Get Out and Wonder Woman.

Directors Patty Jenkins, Jordan Peele and Taika Waititi all received nods for their work behind the cameras for Wonder Woman, Get Out and Thor: Ragnarok respectively.

Jenkins, Peele and Waititi had some of the best reviewed films of the year and their films broke many records at the box office and beyond.

The Empire Awards are an annual British awards ceremony which reward the best in cinematic achievements in both the local and global film industry.

You can vote for who you believe should win here. Voting closes on Friday, February 2 and The Empire Awards will be held on March 18, 2018.
