“Mighty Ducks’ TV Series in Early Stages of Development

According to Hollywood Reporter, The Mighty Ducks franchise could be hitting the small screen soon. ABC Signature Studios, the cable- and streaming-focused arm of ABC Studios, is currently developing the 90’s series about a youth hockey team. However, there is no specific network attached to series yet.

Original trilogy screenwriter Steven Brill and original producer Jordan Kerner approached ABC Studios after realizing that ABC Signature Studio’s head, Tracy Underwood was looking for older Disney properties to develop. As of right now, Brill is writing the script in-house for the studio.

Sadly, the film’s star, Emilio Estevez has not yet joined the project in anyway shape or form, but the script has not yet been completed, so there is still a lot of time for him to join.

It is also still unknown whether or not the show will be a sequel to prior Mighty Duck properties or just an outright remake.
