Childish Gambino Signs New Deal With RCA, New Music Expected Later This Year
Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino has signed a new record label deal with RCA Records. The rapper/actor/singer is also expected to release new music later this year.
RCA Chairman and CEO, Peter Edge was excited about the signing and had nothing by praise for the artist. About Glover, Edge said, “Donald is undoubtedly one of the most talented, multi-faceted, young entertainers of this era.”
Edge wants to focus on the future of Childish Gambino’s music and continued, “We are excited to join forces with him and Wolf + Rothstein to usher in the next phase of Childish Gambino’s musical career.”
Gambino’s two previous albums were released through GlassNote Records and in reference to his new deal, he said, “It was a necessary change of pace.”
Gambino’s last album, “Awaken, My Love!” along with single, “Redbone” have been nominated for five awards at the upcoming Grammy ceremony, including: Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best R&B Song.
