‘Grown-ish’ Renewed for Second Season on Freeform

ABC’s Black-ish spinoff series Grown-ish has been renewed for a 20-episode second season on Freeform.  The series is created by Kenya Barris.

The half-hour comedy show follows Zoey, portrayed by Yara Shahidi, as she goes into her freshmen year of college at Cal U and all the experiences that come along with it.  Along for the ride and worrying for their 17-year old daughter are Dre and Rainbow played by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross respectively.


The series is produced by ABC Signature Studios.  Initially developed by ABC, the studio passed the series after it aired the pilot last spring.  Soon after, it was picked up by Freeform where they ordered 13 episodes for the first season which premiered in January 2018.
