With Netflix’s push to continuously bring out new original content throughout 2018, the latest feature to come to Netflix’s anime lineup is Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters.
The film releases today, with both English subs, and an English dub, starring Chris Niosi and Lucien Dodge in the main English voice character roles.
Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters is the 32nd film in the Godzilla series, and the first of a trilogy that will be distributed on Netflix, and produced by Toho Animation and Polygon Pictures. The movie centers around Haruo Sakaki, a young man who returns to Earth thousands of years after Godzilla and other giant monsters have made the planet uninhabitable to humans.
The next film in the trilogy, Godzilla: Battle Mobile Breeding City is set to release in 2018, and the third film, Godzilla: The City Mechanized for the Final Battle is currently in production. According to reports, both films will also feature Mechagodzilla.
