Creed 2 is rounding out its cast of fighters by having Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu play Ivan Drago’s son. Sylvester Stallone confirmed the choice on his Instagram page.
Though no story details have been released yet, it’s rumored the film will involve a fight between Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed and Drago’s son.
Munteanu and Jordan will be joined by Stallone, Tessa Thompson and Dolph Lundgren.
Steven Caple Jr. (The Land) is directing from a script by Stallone and Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage).
In Rocky IV Drago kills Adonis’ father Apollo in the ring. Rocky then challenges him in an effort to avenge his friend. The film, which came out in 1985, capitalized on the long standing cold war tensions between the Soviet Union and United States.
Creed 2 may begin filming in Philadelphia in March for a Nov. 21 release.
