Conan the Barbarian Will Return To Marvel in 2019
Marvel and Conan Properties International were happy to announce that comic series Conan the Barbarian will be returning to Marvel after being absent for 18 years. Robert E. Howard’s title character will be published in comics starting January 2019.
The ‘sword-and-sorcery’ character first made his appearance in October 1970, running 270 issues until 1993.
Conan is from Cimmeria, a fictional northern kingdom of barbarians. After fighting in the battle of Venarium, he eventually became king for Aquilonia — one of the most important kingdoms Hybroian age.
Editor-in-chief of Marvel, C.B. Cebulski, in a statement said:
“From Barry Windsor-Smith to John Buscema to Neal Adams, a legendary line-up of amazing artists brought Conan to life in the pages of Marvel comics. It’s a legacy we’re now going to live up to with the talent we have lined up for the Cimmerian barbarian’s homecoming in early 2019. We’re excited!”
