Academy Award-winning director Barry Jenkins (Moonlight) has announced he is working with Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman on an upcoming thriller titled Expatriate. Details about the plot have not been revealed yet, other than the fact that the film is set in the 1970s and will focus on a plane hijacking.

The film is set to be produced by Universal’s Marc Platt Productions, alongside Oscar winner Mark Johnson (Rain Man, Breaking Bad) through Gran Via Productions. Mark Ceryak is also attached as producer. Boseman co-wrote the script with Logan Coles, who will be executive producing the thriller.

Jenkins is coming off his Oscar win for Moonlight, and is currently set to direct, produce and write an adaptation of the James Baldwin novel If Beale Street Could Talk for Annapurna Pictures. Chadwick Boseman is starring in Marvel’s highly anticipated Black Panther film, which is directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed) and will be in theaters February 16.
