‘The New Mutants’ to be released later in February 2019

After the massive Fox buyout by Disney, it seems that Fox’s Marvel films are all being pushed to much later dates, except for Deadpool 2, which will be released two weeks earlier.

Comicbook.com reports The New Mutants will be pushed back 10 months and will be released February 22, 2019 rather than its original April 13 release date. Hollywood Reporter is states that the release date will be pushed back to “avoid overlap” in some overseas markets where The New Mutants and Deadpool 2 will be in theaters at the same time.

Fox will also push back Channing Tatum’s Gambit film to be released four months later in June 2019. The Gambit film has also recently lost its director, Gore Verbinski, which could be a reason for the pushback, but it could also be due to the more comedic and action based tone that would fare better in the summer, according to studio insiders.

Let us know what you think about the changing dates in the comments below!
