According to a report from Collider, Tim Miller, the man behind Deadpool, has set his sights on another famous mutant for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise. The director apparently is developing a Kitty Pryde solo film! Keep in mind that although a movie is in development, it may not make it to production. Also, there’s the $52.4 billion merger to remember. This could very well cause the film to hit development hell and never see the light of day, but I am still excited for the possibility of this project!

With female-led solo films on the rise in the comic book community, there’s no better time than now for a movie like this. I almost wish the Marvel/Fox deal didn’t go through just yet because I think Fox might be on to something and I really want this franchise that I hold so dear to make it out the trenches with no help.

The last time we saw Kitty Pryde on-screen was in X-Men: Days of Future Past played by Ellen Page. I personally loved what Page brought to the role and could definitely see her leading a solo film for the character. This is a step in the right direction, considering that Kitty Pryde is the current leader of the X-Men in today’s comic run.

What do you guys think? Are we here for a solo Kitty Pryde movie? Sound off in the comments and on Twitter!

  1. Ah young Katya…so many dope stories they could use for this…One that would be super dope is the whole Ogun thing but that would mean a Wolverine appearance…but the fact that Kitty is even in the running is dope alone!!
