‘Grown-ish’ is Freeform’s Best Debut in Five Years
The premiere of Freeform’s newest comedy Grown-ish was bigger than anyone expected. The series was the network’s best comedy debut in five years with 1.562 million viewers.
The Black-ish spinoff was also the channel’s best debut since Shadowhunters in 2016. The show’s 4.5 million views was the best digital debut in Freeform history.

Grown-ish focuses on Yara Shahidi’s Zoey as she heads off to college and learns to tackle life on her own. She is surrounded by an eclectic group of friends and instructors including Deon Cole’s Charlie.
Shahidi and Cole co-star with Trevor Jackson as Aaron, Jordan Buhat as Vivek, Emily Arlook as Nomi, Francia Raisa as Ana, Chris Parnell as Dean Parker, Chloe Bailey as Jazz, Halle Bailey as Sky and Luka Sabbat as Luca.
Grown-ish airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on Freeform.
