Lifetime Releases Trailer for Simone Biles Biopic
Lifetime has recently released a trailer for a biopic of the gold-medal Olympic gymnast Simone Biles. Titled The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar, the biopic is based on the Olympian’s book Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance. You can watch the trailer below.
The biopic will feature Julius Tennon and Tisha Campbell-Martin, while introducing relative newcomer Jeanté Godlock to portray Simone Biles herself. It will also star Kathleen Rose Perkins as Aimee Boorman, Kelsey Scott as Shanon, Marilyn Norry as Martha Karolyi, and Nakai Takawira as Young Simone. The film follows Biles through her life, her hard work, and difficulties overcome that led her to 19 Olympic and World Championship medals and recognition of possibly one of the best gymnast of all time.
Biles has a hand as the executive producer of this project, with Kelly Fullerton as the writer and executive producers Howard Braunstein, Janey Miller, and Kyell Thomas for Octagon. The biopic is set for release on February 3.
