American writer, director, producer, actor, and founder of Bad Hat Harry Productions, Bryan Singer has officially been removed as an executive producer for the FX show, Legion. In an interview with Deadline following the Legion TCA panel, creator/executive producer Noah Hawley stated that “Bryan asked to take his name off the show, so we have done that.”

Singer is currently in the midst of battling various sexual misconduct allegations and has even had a lawsuit filed against him for sexual assault. According to Hawley, Singer’s contributions to the show have been minuscule and were limited to the series’ early concepts and hasn’t really spoken to him since around the time of the pilot.

Singer’s name has also been dropped from his alma mater, The USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Division of Cinema & Media Studies program due to the allegations, once again, the man himself asking for it to be removed. Singer’s camp said that while he plans to defend himself from the allegations fully,  “he does not want the pending litigation to have any negative impact on his alma mater.”

Singer also currently serves as an executive producer for the FOX show The Gifted. The network is reportedly “looking into” his status with the show and taking the allegations  “very seriously”, however since Singer did direct the pilot for the show, removing his credit will be harder since he is contractually guaranteed one.
