American Horror Story Season 8 Set in the Future; Update on Murder House/Coven Crossover
Having just completed its seventh season, which centered on the 2016 Presidential and the resulting nation-wide division, FX’s anthology horror series is gearing up for an eighth run. Speaking at Television Critics Association press tour, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy cryptically teased where the show will head next.
As reported by TV Line (via Bloody-Disgusting), Murphy revealed the following:
“It takes place in the future. It’s still topical, but [set in] the future, which I’ve never done… I think people will like it.“ Murphy continued, “It’s different from what we’ve done before.”

While Murphy wouldn’t divulge how far in the future the series will travel, he did confirm Season 8 is not the impending crossover between the “Murder House” and “Coven” seasons:
“We’re working on it, but that’s not going to be [Season 8]. That will probably be the one after that. We’ve already met about it and outlined it. But it won’t be next because some of the [cast members] are not available.”
