HBO Confirms ‘Game of Thrones’ 2019 Return

It’s going to be a long winter before viewers return to Westeros, as HBO has confirmed that Game of Thrones will not be back for its eighth and final season until 2019.

Rumors have been swirling since the end of season seven that the Emmy winning series would take a year off, so the creative team could focus on producing the last six episodes.

Showrunners/writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have previously stated that they already know how everything will wrap up, they just want more time to make the finish the best it can be.

When we left off in season seven, everyone except Cersei was headed North to fight the Army of the Dead, which had just crossed through the wall with a reanimated dragon.

Also, Bran and Sam figured out that Jon Snow is actually Aegon Targaryen, which makes him the heir to the Iron Throne. Unfortunately, Jon doesn’t know this and was last seen having sex with Daenerys, who, it turns out, is his aunt.

What are your theories on how everything will end? Who lives, who dies, who tells the story?
