Michael B. Jordan Strives To Have A Performance on Par With Heath Ledger’s Joker For Role As Erik Killmonger In ‘Black Panther’
In less than two months, the next entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther, will arrive in theaters. And with multiple villains, it will be interesting to see just how T’Challa defends Wakanda against the enemy when we finally get to see the film.
The talented Michael B. Jordan plays the main antagonist, Erik Killmonger – a feat which required a lot emotionally from the actor and in an interview with Empire, the star revealed that he enjoyed powerful past villain performances from the late Heath Ledger and Michael Fassbender.
Jordan told Empire, “You see performances as an actor, and as a fan – you look at Heath Ledger’s performance, say, in The Dark Knight, and it’s like, “Wow”. I want to try to get something like that. You want Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. Just trying to find my place amongst those roles, and strive for that, even if I don’t make it.”
It will be interesting to see how Jordan will bring Killmonger to life on the big screen, but based off of his previous work, it’s sure to be another standout performance.
