2017 is almost over, and with it, lists like “best movies of 2017″ or “best performances of the year” are starting to appear as a way to round up the year and all of the things we saw in these past few months.
One of the lists that never fails to make his way into our screen is The Top-Grossing Actor Of 2017 by Forbes; a list where we can see who is the actor that “dominated” the box office and make the highest earning due to their films. To calculate this numbers of the top-grossing actors, Forbes adds up 2017 global ticket sales of major films as of Dec. 26, 2017. However, animated movies where only actors’ voices were used are not included in the totals.
In the first position, we have Vin Diesel, who thanks to his role in The Fate of the Furious and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage earned around $1.6 billion at a global scale, with $1.235 billion from The Fate of the Furious. The xXx sequel – the third in the series and second with Diesel as a star– earned him $346.1 million worldwide, enough to put Diesel at the top of the list.
Following behind is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who also has to thank The Fate of the Furious for his position on this list, making him earn $1.2 billion worldwide. However, his second place in the list is due to the mixed reviews of Baywatch, which made him earn $178 million, and the late release of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, a movie that made him earn $121.5 million globally up to the closing of the list.
In third place, we have Gal Gadot, the woman in charge to play the famous Amazon known as Wonder Woman, thanks to both her solo film Wonder Woman –earning around $822 million globally- and the film that united all DC heroes Justice League -which earn $647 million worldwide- boosting her final tally to $1.469 billion.
Other actors on the list are Emma Watson with $1.3 billion -thanks to Beauty and The Beast and The Circle-, Daisy Ridley with $1.08 billion -due to Star Wars The Last Jedi and her appearance in Murder on the Orient Express-, Tom Holland with $888 million -thanks to Spider-Man: Homecoming-, Chris Pratt with $864 million from GotG Vol.2, Chris Hemsworth with $845 million from Thor Ragnarok and finally John Boyega with $815 million from The Last Jedi, Detroit and The Circle.
