New K-Drama Based on ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ Finds Its Two Leads
MBC’s new upcoming drama “Love Game” has found its male and female lead in the form of actors Woo Do-Hwan and Park Soo-Young, or her stage name, Joy. The series will be based on the well-known French novel Dangerous Liaisons, which has spawned numerous film and tv adaptations as well as a musical and a play.
The show will revolve around the interactions of characters and romance between twenty-year-olds Kwon Shi Hyun and Eun Tae Hee. Shi Hyun is a player who bets his life that he can seduce and win the heart of Tae Hee who thinks that being swayed by love is pitiful, at least until Shi Hyun begins to cross her path. Shi Hyun and Tae Hee will be played by Do-Hwan and Joy respectively.
Woo has been steadily working since 2011 and his most recent projects include Save Me which is based off of a popular web comic and Mad Dog where he plays a genius reformed swindler who finds himself working with a previous rival after they both lost family members in a suspicious plane crash that they are now working together to solve.
Joy made her acting debut earlier this year in the drama The Liar and His Lover and her group Red Velvet released their second full length album Perfect Velvet in November where it debuted at number 2 on the Gaon Album Chart as well as the Billboard World Album Chart, making it their third number one album to be released in a singular year.
