David Harbour Hopes For A Hopper/Steve Team-Up & Talks Stranger Things 3
With the recent announcement of a season 3 renewal for Stranger Things, the world has been searching for any and every clue that could give an inkling to what journey this next season will take us on. Fan favorite, David Harbour who plays Chief Jim Hopper has some very interesting takes on what he’d like to see next season and it actually supports a theory of mine.
See, I believe Steve Harrington (everyone’s favorite mother figure) briefly talks about his future in a conversation with Nancy. He’s not too sure on going to college but instead talks of staying in his hometown and working with his dad. I think that when season 3 picks up, we’ll find him doing just that and hating his decision. Boom, scary monsters invade the small town of Hawkins yet again and we find Steve Harrington fighting the monsters off again, this time, side-by-side with Hopper which will lead him to becoming a cop in the town! Anyways, here’s what Harbour said of what he wanted to accomplish in this next season
“…Then there’s stuff that I don’t think is feasible, but I do think the internet knows my love for Joe Keery. I would love to see a Hopper and Steve get-together, but I seriously doubt that’s going to happen.”
He goes on about the exploration of Hopper’s rich backstory:
“I want to get into the backstory of Hopper more. When Eleven goes into the basement, she sees a bunch of boxes, one of which says “Hawkins Lab.” “Dad.” “Vietnam.” “New York.” There’s a lot of story we can get into around Hopper’s time as a cop in New York, Hopper’s time in Vietnam. I would love to see more of that”
What do you guys think? Here for a Hopper back story and a possible Steve/Hopper team-up? Do you think Steve will follow in Hoppers footsteps? Let me know in the comments or on twitter and be sure to catch Stranger Things season 2 on Netflix now!
