‘Fantastic Beasts 2’ Wraps Up Filming

Everyone’s been heading home for the various winter holidays and the cast of Fantastic Beasts 2 gets to do the same. The second film in the franchise officially wrapped up filming on the 20th of this month with the movie’s official Twitter account making the announcement:

The current title of the sequel to the 2016 film is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and the plotline is set to follow our group of heros as they attempt to catch Grindelwald and bring him back into the custody of the MACUSA. Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller and Zoë Kravitz will all be reprising their roles as Newt Scamander, Tina Goldstein, Jacob Kowalski, Queenie Goldstein, Credence Barebone and Leta Lestrange respectively, while new additions to the cast include Jude Law as the legendary Albus Dumbledore. David Yates also returned to direct.

Filming started back in July and while there seems to have been no major bumps in the actual process, many did rally for the recasting of Johnny Depp due to the domestic abuse claims against him, especially after it was announced that Ridley Scott was having reshoots for his film, “All the Money in the World” due to the sexual assault claims that came out against Kevin Spacey.

So how do you feel knowing the film is that much closer to being out? Are you ready to return to the world of magic? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of  Grindelwald has an expected theatrical release date of November 16th, 2018.
