Paramount Announces Release Dates for Third ‘G.I. Joe,’ ‘Micronauts, Dungeons & Dragons’ Movies

Paramount isn’t done with G.I. Joe movies. The studio has announced a third film following the “real American heroes” will be released March 27, 2020.

The Rise of Cobra starring Channing Tatum and Sienna Miller earned $302 million at the worldwide box office, while its sequel Retaliation starring Dwayne Johnson made $375 million.

Both films were critically panned and considered flops. Johnson has previously said he considered his story in the G.I Joe world done, so chances are someone else will take the lead in the new movie.

Paramount has also set release dates for a Micronauts movie October 16, 2020 and a Dungeons & Dragons film July 23, 2021.

The Micronauts were popular robot toys from late 70s whose size made them easy for kids to play and came with many interchangeable accessories.

Dungeons & Dragons is an extremely popular role-playing game that focuses on a magical world of witches, elves and trolls.

The studio has also saved October 1, 2021 for an untitled Hasbro movie.

No other major movies have been announced for these dates, so the studio is trying to get ahead of the competition.
