Fall in Love with ‘Catherine’ All Over Again in The Rumored Remaster

Ryokutya2089, a Japanese blogger known for leaking details from Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation, claims, Atlus is working on reviving the popular puzzle-platformer Catherine.

While this rumored announcement leaves me hopeful it’s not exactly a surprise. Earlier this year we saw a return of Catherine character, Trisha, the hostess of the in-game program “Golden Playhouse.” Atlus brought Trisha back into the spotlight to host a series of interviews titled the “Golden Employment Special,” where she left us with this message at the end.

By the way, I’m looking forward to the fantasy RPG of course…

But will there even be anything for me to do?

Maybe a lot of you are actually wondering?

This time, I will be the new heroine! Just kidding…

(Slight pause.)

Huh, the offer for my next job is on the table?

A cryptic message which already had fans giddy for a potential sequel.

However, Ryokutya doesn’t believe the sequel is coming just yet. According to his report, the rumored release isn’t said to have a number attached to the title, leading him to believe that we may see an announcement of a remastered edition. A likely outcome considering Atlus’ history. Persona 3 saw two remasters in the form of Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable, for the PS2 and PSP. While Persona 4‘s remaster, Persona 4 Golden, is widely praised as being a system selling title on the Vita.

The leak promises that we should have an official announcement from Atlus by the end of 2017. Should we head back to The Stray Sheep for another round of drinks? Or is it time for a new tale of infidelity and mystery?
