Never have I been so excited to be awful at a video game. Dragon Ball FighterZ is a flash to the past with its stunning 2D visuals and soundtrack reminiscent of the original series. Coming a long way from power-ups that take 4 episodes, this quick-paced fighter seems like a must-have game to kick off 2018.

This past weekend at Jump Festa 2017 we were given yet another trailer for Arc System Work’s vibrant 2D-fighter, Dragon Ball FighterZ. Knowing just what fans of the series want, Arc System Work’s trailer was packed with moments to leave the hair of viewers standing on end. Backdropped by the ending theme from 1993 to 1996 “We Were Angels,” the trailer gives us glimpses into all of our favorite moments from the beloved franchise.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Aside from Android 21, an original character designed by Akira Toriyama, the game is promising to bring characters from outside the Dragon Ball Z series. Introduced in this trailer from the new series, Dragon Ball Super, are Hit, Beerus and Goku Black.

Launching on January 26, 2018, Dragon Ball Fighter Z will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re playing on Ps4 and looking for a confidence boost hit me up on twitter @CazualJo, I’ll gladly be your practice dummy.
