WATCH: Debut Trailer For ‘One Piece: World Seeker’ Has Dropped Anchor
As promised with the announcement made earlier this week, the first official trailer for One Piece: World Seeker was released at Jump Festa 2018.
The trailer mainly focuses on highlighting the movements of Luffy as he leaps over fences, slingshots over trees, and even flies through the sky. Luffy’s stunning animations show us the spry and responsive movements we would expect to see from the Gum-Gum user.
Remember Luffy’s reaction after seeing Franky’s new abilities or Chopper using his “beam” for the first time? As starred-eyed as can be, that was my expression the entire time watching this trailer.
While the animations are apt for a One Piece game, there are still a couple things that seem out of place. Mainly seeing the head-strong protagonist, known to act first and deal with consequences later, inching alongside a fortress wall to avoid detection. Going as far as crawling in a barrel, as we would expect to see in the classic stealth series Metal Gear Solid. Despite being uncharacteristic outside of the goofiness, these stealth elements come as a breath of fresh air following Pirate Warriors.

One Piece: World Seeker is scheduled for a worldwide release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
