‘Naruto’ Creator Masashi Kishimoto is Releasing a New Series
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto and its followup series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has just announced that he will be debuting a new series next year.
Shueisha’s Jump Festa, an annual party dedicated to the year’s accomplishments in anime and manga, is happening right now, and Kishimoto made the announcement on the event’s Boruto stage. The series will be released alongside the Weekly Shonen Jump’s 50th anniversary issue.
There are very little details so far about the nature of the series, and it’s unclear of whether the series will be related to Naruto at all. Considering that Boruto is still ongoing, it’s unlikely that the new series will be happening in the same universe.
While on stage, Kishimoto briefly debuted some sketches from the upcoming manga.
Though there isn’t a release date set yet, the 50th anniversary of Shonen Jump is in August, so we’re hoping to see the new series then.
What do you think Kishimoto’s new story will be about?
